A lot of fun stuff got underway last month, but for the most part, I was able to get some much needed R&R. That being said, here’s a recap of some announcements you may or may not have seen:

The talented Lisa Roumain is back to record the audiobook of THE WILD FALL and is doing such an incredible job so far. This one is likely not to be out for a few more months at least. I so enjoy the process of listening to her go chapter by chapter and giving it the “movie” treatment. Lisa has a phenomenal voice and makes each and every character come alive in a way that gives me goosebumps.

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to her amazing work on THE WILD DARK, you should definitely give it a listen. You can find it on Amazon or Audible for download.

I got to attend the first Spooktastic Book Fair in Boston September 30th and had a blast! This was a lovely little book fair set up at a school in Jamaica Plains with plenty of tents of artwork, books, face-painting, and more! A stray black cat even showed up for a little bit (which I was very excited about). Even more exciting was getting a chance to finally meet up in person with my buddy, Aquino Loayza, see other author friends again and meet some readers who I’ve interacted with online but hadn’t seen in person yet either. We ended the evening at dinner with fellow authors Alyssa Alessi and Mike Sullivan which was so much fun and got to spend the remainder of the weekend hunting down wild Lego sets and enjoying some fun beer at Mighty Squirrel Brewing Company.

Last week, I hung out at Quiet City Books in Lewiston along with fellow Horror Writers of Maine authors, Renee Decamillis, Morgan Sylvia, E.J. Fechenda, Meg North, and Peter Dudar reading from our works. This was the first HWOM event we’ve done in a while and it was so good to see everyone and listen to their work. I recorded a couple podcasts last month, one which has aired this week and both were a lot of fun!

I’ve been all over the place this past month. A lot of that is because I finally had some time to sit down and enjoy consuming horror instead of writing it for once!

THIS WEEKEND! I’m lucky enough to be hanging out at Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Festival with a slew of amazing horror authors. Doors open at 10 AM and we roll until 4 PM. I’ll have plenty of copies of The Wild Dark, The Wild Fall, Hallowed Oblivion, Aequitas, Memento Mori, and The Collection available. I will not, unfortunately, have copies of my new release, Lost Oblivion, due to time constraints. I will also not have any copies of Vox available due to a long shipping time with Amazon.

I also get to darken the doorway of the Lovecraft Arts and Sciences Bookshop in Providence, RI on Sunday with two of my favorite people, Robert Ottone and Aquino Loayza for a reading. I’ll be reading selections from The Wild Dark and Hallowed Oblivion there.

I’ll be recording a podcast with Deadheadspace alongside the lovely Zach Rosenberg and Robert Ottone next week which promises to be lots of fun. I’ve also got another podcast recording scheduled which I can’t reveal yet, but trust me, it’ll have you looking around for lions, tigers, and bears (oh, my!).

Last but certainly not least, I’ve been invited to go back to my old high school and present to the creative writing class there. I’m very honored to be spending time with students talking to them about the joys and struggles of becoming a professional in fiction writing.

All in all, it’s going to be an extraordinary latter half of the month and I can’t wait to share with you how it all goes!
