It’s September. Spookiness is incoming HARD. I used to make this joke that the internet would usually explode in all things bats, skeletons, and ghosts as soon as the first of the month hit but it’s getting earlier and earlier each year. And that’s totally fine. I have spooky decor up in my home all year long (and no, that’s not because I’m just bad at taking stuff down at the end of the season…)

In 2 days, my next novel, Where The Soul Goes, comes out! September 9th is chock full of amazing horror books and that’s a bit intimidating heading into the start of the month. There’s new work from favorites like Clay McLeod Chapman, Rachel Harrison, Gemma Amor, Keith Rosson, and Eric LaRocca, stellar standouts from both Shortwave and Tenebrous with The Extra and Reef Mind, heavy-hitters Dawson, McNeil, and Sharpson, respectfully and a whole host of others that just look incredible. Going into this, it’s hard not to be a little nervous. I’m sure that day of, there are going to be a lot of fans excited about the names they recognize, the publishers they trust, and the book covers they can’t get enough of. Here’s crossing my fingers that Where The Soul Goes falls into the hands of some interested readers and that they find it an engaging read amongst the masses of incredible books out that day.

Releasing a new book means hitting the open road and tossing my wares about all willy-nilly. I’m going to be in a half-dozen places over the next few weeks and I’d love to see you if you’re nearby any of them. Here’s the list. Add them to your calendars, friends!

We held a Goodreads Giveaway for Where The Soul Goes and got 3500+ entrants before it ended on Tuesday! That’s insane! Thanks to everyone who was interested. Hopefully, the giveaway will translate into interested readers who’ll still want to pick up the book once it comes out!

I’m getting The Deadlands Omnibus finished up in time for it to print towards the end of September. While I’d originally wanted to have copies available for Spooktastic, I ran out of time to make that happen. I’m still planning on having copies printed around the end of September, beginning of October. There will only be 50 copies available, some of which are promised to a certain bookstore opening up in Williamsburg, VA soon…

Alright! That’s it! I’m off today to try and find an outfit to wear for the Spooktastic Book Festival this weekend in Framingham, Mass. I’m deliriously excited to see everyone and get my book on.
